The next Generation of Music Lovers

Jackson and I have been sick for the past week. Having a sick 3 year old if not so much fun. He has been having a hard time sleeping because of his congestion. The other night he woke up around 3:00am. He turned to me and said " Mom, can we listen to music on your Ipod?" I laughed and told him no. Secretly, I wanted to listen to music on my Ipod too. He told me that it was ok and he went back to sleep.

Winter Wonderland

We are starting to get into the holiday season. Jackson and I went and got our tree this weekend. This is the first year Jackson has been old enough to kind of get the whole Christmas thing. He loved decorating the tree. You could tell where he was standing, all of the ornaments are right on top of each other. I am trying, really hard, to be excited about the holiday. Jackson makes it kind of easy.

Thinking . . .

Jackson: "Mommy are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
Mommy: "I don't know, what are you thinking?"
Jackson: "I am thinking that when the sun comes up we should take a walk downtown."
Mommy: "I wish we could but when the sun comes up we have to get ready to go to school."
Jackson: "Oh, well when you pick me up can we walk downtown when we get home?"
Mommy: " Oh course, I would like that."

I love that we have a downtown to walk to and that my son loves to walk there.

Fall on the horizon

It has been a long time since we posted anything. Life, as usual, has taken  many turns in the last few months. Jackson and I had a wonderful summer. I was able to take 2 months off and we spent time together and with friends. We even made it out to Wisconsin for a week in August. It was fun and revitalizing for both of us. We are now back to school. The transition was much harder for me than it was for Jackson. He is a champ!
Jackson turned 3 this summer and is learning to ride a bike, he is now sleeping in a big boy bed and is almost completely potty trained!!!!!!!! Such a big boy now! I am going to try and be better about posting things and pictures from here on out. Here are some pictures from out summer adventures:

A Winters Day Hike

I know that it is soon for another post but I thought I would share a cute little story from my day. I went hiking up Pack Monadnock in Peterborough this morning with my homeroom. The point of the hike was to get to the top so we could sled down. The group had a rough go of it but while we were there we were passed by a couple, also on a hike. The two of them stopped to chat and said that this was a place that they used to spend a lot of time at in the summer and occasionally during the winter. The man then told us that he was 83 years old and his wife was almost 81- she got upset since she was only 80 and her birthday was not for a few more months. They were super cute and made it to the top when most of the teenagers I was with gave up only half way.

February Vacation- Kind of

This week is supposed to be February Vacation week. It is one of those awesome perks to being a teacher. Well not so much. Since I work at a private school we had fewer options for making up snow days compared to public schools. So we decided to work the first three days this week. By work of course I mean we made it Winter Week. Today I was going to be cross country skiing, tomorrow I will go ice skating and Wednesday I get to go skiing at Cannon Mountain. Not bad for a week of work! Of course we got a snow storm last night and school was delayed two hours. I am going to miss today for another reason- Jackson continues to fight this flu bug and after 4 plus days of being sick I am taking him to the doctors to make sure he is ok. I think Jackson will tell you that he feels better and that over the last 4 days he has more than made up for all the t.v. Scott and I never let him watch! I think his favorite new phrase is "I want to watch it over and over and over Mommy!" Thankfully I have not gotten the flu yet- seems like a miracle since Jackson prefers to get sick on me instead of in the bowl or the toilet! I love being a mom- it has been kind of nice hearing him ask to snuggle all the time.
I have a few pictures from our Valentines trip to Seapoint Beach and when I find the camera I will post them for everyone to see. It had been way too long since the family hit the beach and I think we all had an awesome time, especially Cassidy.

We hope everyone is doing well. Spring is on the way and soon we will have lots of pictures of our upcoming camping adventures!

Here are the pictures from the beach- the last one shows a sad boy who didn't want to go home!
For good measure I am going to add some pictures of the sick pup this morning. We went to the doctor and she said that if he is still sick on Wednesday we will need to run some tests but so far he seems to be holding his own. I sure hope we don't have to do any tests later this week!

Another Sunday, Another Snow Storm

Jackson and Mommy after a long morning playing in the snow

Happy New Year everyone! Jackson and I are staying busy- Jackson eating lots of snow and for me it's shoveling. I did go and hire a plow guy- which has been super exciting and helpful. Jackson and I had a wonderful time in CA for Christmas. It was sad to come back to all the cold and snow but we are already talking about going back on the big airplane. Jackson probably had an easier time adjusting then I did and now every time he sees a plane it is always flying to CA.
Here are some pictures from our trip home- Jackson had a great time playing with all of his cousins and his many aunts and uncles. Of course I think Jackson enjoyed playing fetch with Napoleon the most!

Since being home we have been playing outside and when it is too cold to go outside (which it has been the past week) Jackson has taken to riding his bike in the house really fast! Well that is how he explains it at least. He is getting really good at navigating the turns and furniture. He also enjoys chasing Cassidy around the house on his bike- not sure Cassidy appreciates the game of it all. She is doing much better with Jackson and now Jackson kisses her at night and says " I love Cassidy and Cassidy loves Jackson" Too cute.

The other big news is that next week our house will officially be up for sale. It's very sad and kind of exciting all at the same time. The idea of packing and de-cluttering is kind of overwhelming right now. Fingers crossed we can sell it quickly and for the price we are asking. I have not been able to decide where to go once the house sells- I guess we need to figure that out pretty quickly!

New England Weather

As everyone in the country knows we are dealing with a total disaster here in the northeast. The ice storm knocked out power to thousands of people. Thankfully we lost power for a few hours on Friday and that was it. The only other small issue we had was that two large tree limbs fell off a neighbors tree onto the car. Scott was able to cut up the limbs to remove it. The only damage that is obvious are the dents in the hood- no broken glass!! Now Jackson wakes up and asks if a tree has fallen on the car!

Hope everyone is safe and warm this week!

Here are some pictures of the adventure . . . .

Ice Rules!!!
On the up note here are some pictures from the rest of the weekend. Jackson loves to snuggle as he watches his little 20 minute video before bed some nights. Here are some pictures of him watching the bunnies hop and also of him talking to his new tractor.

Be well

One last Hurrah

Jackson and I went camping with some friends in Pawtuckaway State Park last night. We had the campground to ourselves which was nice. We camped right along the water, which Jackson was thrilled about because it meant an endless supply of rocks to throw in the water! We went on a nature hike and Jackson ran the entire time. It was going great until Jackson for some reason decided to rub sand in his face. Crying and screaming continued for some time- which included sand filled tears and snot. Poor kid! As usual Jackson was a champ sleeping in the tent. I was a little on the cold side but he didn't seem to be bothered at all. We decided with we would make this camping trip an annual event- the first Saturday after Halloween. Makes me wish I had been able to get off my butt and take Jackson camping a few more times this past summer . . . . but now we are gearing up for snow and winter fun. Next summer we are definitely going camping more often and everyone is welcome to join us!

The next few pictures are not from camping but they a too cute not to share. Lately Jackson has been way into playing with flour on the counter. He "cooks" things and also drives his tractor through it. He makes a huge mess but it's worth it.

3 out of 4 people agree- The Avett Brothers Rock!

As many of you know- Amy loves the Avett Brothers. I was not such a fan- the Youtube videos are horrible! Then I decided that I would take one for the team and go with Amy to the largest music festival in Maine- Shangri-la. It was rainy and there were barely any people there. Amy and I "camped" in a motel nearby and we gave it all we had at the show. That night I became a true convert. I have been listening to 3 of their albums non-stop since. They are now officially the soundtrack to my life. Jackson also really likes them- If it's the beaches is his "favorite" ( I think he says that because it's mommy's favorite!) Scott supposedly doesn't like them at all, although he is listening to them for Jackson. Beware- they will grow on you!
So if you have the chance to catch a show- do it! If you have a chance to talk to them- do it! (Amy missed the boat on that one last month)
So here is a video of Jackson rocking out. Enjoy. This video makes me smile and I sing along when ever I watch it. Smile, sing and dance until you can't dance anymore . . . .

First Day of Summer

While we have been delinquent in our postings things have been very busy around here. Jackson turned two earlier this month and also went on his first camping trip. Work has been busy for the adults in the house and we are still trying to figure out what Delilah can't seem to say no to going potty in the house. Jackson has become very efficient in finding the poopy.
Here are some pictures from our camping trip. Loni and Jackson headed north to meet up with Amy and Adam. The trip only lasted one night but it was well worth it. On the way out of Errol we even saw a Moose!!!!! Jackson enjoyed running up and down the dirt road and throwing rocks in the river. He did great in the tent- even though he got up way too early.

Looking for at all times

After we went camping Jackson celebrated his big 2nd birthday. He loves to hear happy birthday and has really enjoyed all of the new trucks and books about trucks that he received.
Here is one picture from the big day- unfortunately we didn't take that many do options are slim on this one.

Happy Birthday Jackson!

Mother May I

Finally some nice sunshine!!!!

Outside riding his "bike"
Winter has finally lost it's hold on all of us. The weather has been surprisingly nice here in Newmarket. Jackson is loving his time outside and we wish more and more that we had some sort of yard for him to play in- but we make due with what we have!
The chickens are still laying lots of eggs- we have 6 dozen in the fridge as we speak! The other day we had a really big egg- not quite the worlds largest but pretty close (Scott researched this of course!) We felt bad for the chicken that had to lay that one!
Jackson and I had a nice mother's day last week- here are some pictures from our adventures. Jackson already has an infinity for tractors and big trucks- so he was very happy to sit on Paul's lawnmower most of the morning.

Tractor mommy, tractor!

Happy mother's day!

We will try to take more pictures as we get out and have fun in the sun. It's hard to believe that in a little less than a month Jackson will already be 2!!! We will post some birthday pictures for everyone!

The Never Ending Winter

the family at Seapoint Beach

It's Saturday March 1, 2008 and it's still snowing. It's been snowing for ever it seems like. I think everyone is ready for winter to be over- especially Scott. In an effort to start spending more time outside like it was spring we took the pups to the beach this week. It was a balmy 37 degrees on Monday which was nice- sadly enough. Cassidy always loves the beach and Delilah seemed to enjoy the running around as well.
Jackson is talking more and more. He now says " Bless you" when someone sneezes or coughs and he says" thanks much" when you give him what he wants. He is too cute. We are enjoying the new fun of Skype. Amy bought us a web cam and now we can see her all the time. Jackson loves it!!!!!! so if anyone is one Skype let us know- Jackson would love to talk with you. Here are some pictures from this past week. . . . .

AS PROMISED

We finally got a new memory card. I have 90 pictures of the other one so we are hopeful that we can figure out a way to get them off. Last night we had the pleasure of have Adam and Amy over for one last slumber party. When we got up this morning we had homemade pancakes and eggs. We sent the two travelers off with full bellys and lots of hugs. There were only a couple of tears. Kobe was sad to leave.

So here are a couple of pictures of the newest Rowe. She is super cute and way mellow. I am also adding a picture of the futuer football player. He really loves his football.
